信息物理融合系统(Cyber-Physical System, CPS)是一个结合电脑运算领域以及传感器和致动器装置的整合控制系统。目前已有某些领域出现似于CPS的电子控制整合系统，例如航空、汽车、化学制程、基础建设、能源、健康、制造、交通控制、娱乐和消费性电子产品，但目前这些系统通常都是嵌入式系统， 嵌入式系统比较强调机器的计算能力，CPS则更为强调各个实体装置和电脑运算网络的连结。 CPS是借用技术手段实现人的控制在时间、空间等方面的延伸，CPS系统的本质就是人、机、物的融合计算。所以，国内又将CPS称为人机物融合系统。 和传统的嵌入式系统不同，一个完整的CPS被设计成一个实体装置的互动网络，而不只是一个单独运作的装置[1]。这个概念类似于机器人网络和无线传感网络。据推测，接下来的数年在科学和工程的进步会使得计算和物理实体单元能够更紧密的互相结合，而使得CPS的适应性、自动化、 效率、功能、可靠性、安全性和可用性大幅提升。科技进展也会让CPS在多个方面的可能应用变大，例如：行动介入（避免行为冲突）；精准度（机器手术和纳米 层级的制造）; 在危险或是无法进入的环境下行动（搜寻和营救、消防和深海或太空探测）;协调（空中交通控制、战斗行动协调）；效率（零能源额外损耗建筑）；扩增人类的能 力（医疗监控和照护）。
