日本雅乐
Gagaku (jap. 雅楽, „elegante Musik“) ist ein höfischer Musikstil, der seit dem 7. Jahrhundert und besonders seit der Heian-Zeit am japanischen Kaiserhaus gespielt wird. Ursprünglich stammt der Gagaku aus dem Kaiserreich China. Der Stil besteht aus Kammermusik, Chor- und Orchestermusik. Teilweise hat diese Musik in Japan kultische Aufgaben. Gagaku wurde 2009 in die UNESCO-Liste des immateriellen Kulturerbes der Menschheit aufgenommen.

Gagaku wurde 2009 in die UNESCO-Liste des immateriellen Kulturerbes der Menschheit aufgenommen.

雅乐最初在奈良时代自中国传入日本，随后经模仿及融合而产生日本雅乐。不伴随舞蹈的乐器合奏称为管弦；伴随舞蹈的是舞乐；在神乐、东游、久米、催马等曲式中，还包含汉诗（中国诗）的吟诵，称为朗咏。

15世纪日本发生了应仁之乱，开启了战国时代，雅乐的传承也因此受到打击，但是位于奈良的南都乐府及大阪的四天王寺所属雅乐乐师因与首都的京都有段距离的关系免于断绝的危机。数十年后经正亲町天皇、后阳成天皇，德川幕府重新召集各地乐师复兴雅乐。

筚篥乐谱中以片假名记下的唱谱文字在哼唱时，ハ行是以“ファ、フィ、フ、フェ、フォ”的方式发音，与现代的“ハ、ヒ、フ、ヘ、ホ”大不相同；推测可能忠实地再现了16世纪以前日语的发音特征。另外像乐琵琶的乐谱，其中用汉字书写的记号，与在中国敦煌发现的琵琶谱相当类似，并且大量地承传了从中国传入的形式。

京都的乐所在应仁之乱时受到毁灭性的破坏，雅乐面临了传承的危机。丰原统秋（1450年—1524年）为了留下给后人的纪录，撰写了《体源抄》一书；以笙演奏家的身份，纪录了雅乐与舞乐的相关资料与心得。《体源抄》的书名来自于“体”、“源”的偏旁“丰”、“原”，即作者之姓；此书是古代雅乐的珍贵记录，现存的六种雅乐曲调便是依据书中的记录而来，可说是雅乐最重要的史料。作于室町时代的《体源抄》，与镰仓时代的《教训抄》、江户时代的《乐家录》并称为“三大乐书”。
