和谐号CRH3型电力动车组
CRH3列车的原型为德国铁路的ICE-3列车(西门子Velaro),中国以引进西门子交通集团先进技术并吸收的方式,由中国北车唐山轨道客车在 国内生产实现国产化。2004年8月,铁道部展开为用于中国铁路第六次大提速、时速200公里级别的第一轮高速电力动车组技术引进招标,结果西门子公司因 提出高昂的转让技术、车辆造价费用(原型车每列3.5亿元人民币,技术转让费3.9亿欧元)而无法在第一轮招标获得任何订单。至2005年11月,中国铁 道部与德国西门子在“以市场换技术”的原则下签订协议,西门子因而获得60列时速300公里的高速列车订单,总值6.69亿欧元(原型车每列2.5亿元人 民币,技术转让费8000万欧元),最终被定型为CRH3C。

和谐号CRH5型电力动车组
CRH5型电力动车组采用动力分散式设计,有别于TGV的动力集中式设计,是以法国阿尔斯通的Pendolino宽体摆式列车为基础,但取消装设摆式功能,而车体以芬兰铁路的SM3动车组为原型。
2004年8月,铁道部展开为用于中国铁路第六次大提速、时速200公里级别的第一轮高速动车组技术引进招标,阿尔斯通是中标厂商之一,获得了60组高速列车的订单。2004年10月10日,铁道部和阿尔斯通正式签订总值6.2亿欧元的合同。根据合同,阿尔斯通将7项高速列车的关键技术转移给中国,并有3组列车会在阿尔斯通位于意大利的工厂组装,并完整付运予中国;另有6组以散件形式付运,由中方负责组装;其余51组透过法国的技术转移,由长春轨道客车在国内生产。
这批高速列车随后正式定型为CRH5A,是目前CRH5系列中的唯一车型。动车组采用动力分散式,每列8节编组,共5节动车和3节拖 车(5m3T),设计营运速度为250 km/h。列车可透过两组联挂方式增至16节。列车设有一等座车(ZY)、二等座车(ZE)、一等包座/二等座车(ZYE)和带酒吧的二等座车/餐车 (ZEC)。其中一等座采用2+2方式布置,二等座为2+3布置。有23列CRH5A(编号为CRH5-001A—CRH5-012A、CRH5-043A—CRH5—053A)的一等、二等座椅不可回转。

ICE-3列车
Als ICE 3 werden verschiedene Baureihen von ICE-Hochgeschwindigkeitszügen bezeichnet. Mit einer zugelassenen Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 320 bis 330 km/h sind sie die schnellsten Reisezüge der Deutschen Bahn. Im regulären Betrieb erreichen sie in Deutschland planmäßig bis zu 300 km/h und in Frankreich bis zu 320 km/h. Eine wesentliche Besonderheit des ICE 3 liegt in dem über den ganzen Zug unterflur-verteilten Antrieb.
