Vertrag von Kanagawa
《神奈川条约》（日语：神奈川条約／かながわじょうやく Kanagawa Jōyaku；英语：Kanagawa Treaty）为1854年3月31日（嘉永7年旧历三月初三）江户幕府与美国所缔结的条约，日本通称为《日美和亲条约》（日语：日米和親条約／にちべいわしんじょうやく Nichibei Washin Jōyaku）。签约代表分别为日本方面全权代表林复斋（大学头）和美国方面全权代表东印度舰队司令马休·佩里。条约中主要规定日本必须开放下田与箱馆（今函馆市）两港口与美国通商，并向遇难船只的美国船员提供援助。

„A Life on the Ocean Wave“ ist ein Gedicht, das 1838 von Epes Sargent veröffentlicht und von Henry Russell vertont wurde. Es ist der berühmte Regimentsmarsch der Royal Marines seiner Majestät. Eines Tages ging Sargent auf der Battery in New York City spazieren und beobachtete die Schiffe beim Einlaufen in den Hafen. Diese Szene inspirierte Sargent zu einem Gedicht, das Russell später in Musik setzte. Das Lied wurde bald sowohl im Vereinigten Königreich als auch in den Vereinigten Staaten populär
