Die Bell Laboratories (auch Bell Labs, früher Bell Telephone Laboratories, kurz BTL) sind die ehemalige Forschungsabteilung der Telefongesellschaft AT&T, in der im Laufe des 20. Jahrhunderts zahlreiche wichtige Durchbrüche in der Telekommunikationstechnik, Mathematik, Physik, Materialforschung und Informatik erzielt wurden. Für an den Bell-Laboratories durchgeführte Forschung wurden neun Nobelpreise und mehrere Turing-Awards verliehen.

诺基亚贝尔实验室（英语：Nokia Bell Labs，简称贝尔实验室），是美国的一个科技研究机构，总部位于新泽西州联合郡的莫瑞山，最初是贝尔系统内从事包括电话交换机、电话电缆、半导体等电信相关技术的研究开发机构，后来陆续易主。射电天文学、晶体管、激光、光伏电池、电荷耦合器件、信息论、Unix以及C语言、C++和S语言等皆由贝尔实验室的研究人员首先开发；在贝尔实验室的11位工作者获得九项诺贝尔物理学奖，其中有两位华人[1]，包括：1997年获奖的朱棣文及1998年获奖的崔琦[2]。

Die Bell Laboratories (auch Bell Labs, früher Bell Telephone Laboratories, kurz BTL) sind die ehemalige Forschungsabteilung der Telefongesellschaft AT&T, in der im Laufe des 20. Jahrhunderts zahlreiche wichtige Durchbrüche in der Telekommunikationstechnik, Mathematik, Physik, Materialforschung und Informatik erzielt wurden. Für an den Bell-Laboratories durchgeführte Forschung wurden neun Nobelpreise und mehrere Turing-Awards verliehen.[1]

Heute sind die Bell Laboratories Teil der Forschungs- und Entwicklungsabteilung von Nokia. Der Hauptsitz der Bell Labs ist in Murray Hill, New Jersey, in den Vereinigten Staaten. Nokia betreibt mehrere Bell Labs Forschungs- und Entwicklungseinrichtungen weltweit, darunter die Bell Labs Stuttgart und München.[2]

Die Bell Labs sind organisatorisch in drei Unternehmensbereiche eingeteilt: Forschung, Systemtechnik und Entwicklung.

In der Forschung gewann man grundlegende Erkenntnisse für die Telekommunikation aus den Bereichen Mathematik, Physik, Materialforschung und Informatik.

In der Entwicklung, dem größten Unternehmensbereich, wurde die Hard- und Software entwickelt, mit der das Telekommunikationsnetz des Bell-Systems aufgebaut wurde.

Die Beringstraße (englisch Bering Strait, russisch Бе́рингов проли́в/Beringow proliw) ist eine Meerenge zwischen den Kontinenten Asien und Amerika. Die Meerenge verbindet den Arktischen Ozean mit dem Pazifik. Wie das südlich davon gelegene Beringmeer wurde sie nach dem Dänen Vitus Bering benannt, der die Meerenge 1728 als Marineoffizier in russischen Diensten durchfuhr.

白令海峡（英语：Bering Strait；楚科奇语：Эʼрвытгыр、俄语：Бе́рингов проли́в），或译白林海峡，是太平洋的一个海峡，位于亚洲最东点的迭日涅夫角（169°43' W）和美洲最西点的威尔士王子角（168°05' W）之间的海峡，位于大约北纬65° 40'，宽约35-86公里，深度在30-50米之间。这个海峡连接了楚科奇海（北冰洋的一部分）和白令海（太平洋的一部分），位于俄罗斯和阿拉斯加中间。它的名字来自丹麦探险家的维他斯·白令。白令海峡正中间有代奥米德群岛。
