土耳其独立战争（土耳其语：Kurtuluş Savaşı；1919年5月19日－1923年10月29日）是由土耳其革命开展抵抗瓜分奥斯曼帝国的一场政治及军事对抗，紧接着奥斯曼帝国在第一次世界大战战败之后。土耳其大国民议会的成立让凯末尔能成功动用议会，土耳其国民运动至此达致顶峰。对希腊的军事行动、以及土亚战争及法土战争结束后，土耳其革命者迫使协约国放弃《色佛尔条约》，于1923年7月订立《洛桑条约》，土耳其共和国正式在1923年10月于安那托利亚及色雷斯东部成立。土耳其的独立运动最终导致奥斯曼米利特制度的终结，让凯末尔改革创造了现代、世俗的国度。

土伦军港是法国海军在土伦的一个海军基地。它位于狮子湾东端的蔚蓝海岸上。大约从 1486 年起，它就发展成为一个军港，路易十四时对其进行了大幅扩建。如今，它是法国最大的军港，法国约 60% 的军舰停靠在此，也是法国舰队在地中海的基地。

土木之变，指发生于明朝正统十四年（1449年9月1日）明英宗第四次北伐时，明朝军队在土木堡（今河北省怀来县东10公里）败于西部蒙古民族瓦剌军队的事变，又称土木之变或己巳之变。 正统十四年（1449年）七月，明英宗好大喜功，在宦官王振的鼓动下亲征，在土木堡与也先部队交战。明朝军队指挥混乱，主动出击后又班师，受到蒙古军队夹击大败，王振被杀。 土木之变是明朝历史的一个转折点，对明朝政局和北元诸部势力的消长均产生了重大且深远的影响。土木之变后围绕迎复英宗与瓦剌送还，出现了一系列军事冲突、使臣交涉的事件。景泰元年（1450年）八月，英宗终于南归，结束“北狩”生活，这既是明朝中央权力转移、朝臣经世思想的变更的过程，也是瓦剌内部矛盾显现、经济依赖明朝供给的反映。英宗南归后，景泰、天顺年间，明朝内部政治斗争愈演愈烈，对蒙古的政策上也以“土木之变”为鉴，趋于保守。

托尔斯腾森战争（瑞典语：Torstensonska kriget，丹麦语：Torstenssonfejden）是瑞典帝国与丹麦-挪威之间的一场军事冲突，发生于1643年至1645年间。其名称来自于瑞典陆军元帅连纳尔特·托尔斯腾森。托尔斯腾森战争是十七世纪欧洲三十年战争的一部分。托尔斯腾森战争确立了瑞典帝国取代丹麦成为波罗的海霸权。
