距离慕尼黑80公里的阿尔卑斯山下，有巴伐利亚州最大之湖泊-基姆湖。湖长15公里，宽８公里，有巴伐利亚之海的称号。而湖上有两个著名的岛，男人岛(Herreninsel)及女人岛(Fraueninsel)。 　　每逢五月至九月由Prien火车站有驶去Prien-Stock码头的百年古老火车(Chiemseebahn)。其秀丽的湖光山色，自古已为帝侯和修道园所垂青。
