王屋山位于河南省西北部的济源市，东依太行，西接中条，北连太岳，南临黄河，是中国九大古代名山之一，也是道教十大洞天之首，道教主流全真派圣地。

一谓“山中有洞，深不可入，洞中如王者之宫，故名曰王屋也”。一谓“山有三重，其状如屋，故名”。

王屋山绝顶海拔1715.7米，相传为轩辕氏黄帝祈天之所，名曰"天坛"。

王屋山因愚公移山的故事因而家喻户晓。同时，王屋山是国家级重点风景名胜区、国家AAAA级风景区，于2006年申请为世界地质公园，森林覆盖率达98%以上，珍稀动物繁多，具有很高的观赏和研究价值。
