太华山原名方岩山，亦名章山，面积为320公顷，共有九座组成，顶峰548米，为苏南第二高峰，是著名的竹海和佛教圣地。从太华山颠放眼四望，浩瀚无垠的竹海扑入眼帘，竹海的风光一览无余，蔓延的翠竹，随山势起伏而起伏，好似波涛翻滚，绵流不绝。山峰、峡谷似凝固的浪风波谷，炊烟轻绕，愈显几分苍莽渺茫。轻风吹来，满山青竹随风起舞、碧波荡漾。
