Das Lied, das auf Lukas 2,14 basiert, erzählt von einem Engelschor, der Gott lobt. In seiner heutigen Form enthält es lyrische Beiträge von Charles Wesley und George Whitefield, zwei der Gründungsprediger des Methodismus, mit einer musikalischen Adaption von „Vaterland, in deinen Gauen“ aus Felix Mendelssohns Kantate

S.T.S. (auch STS; Akronym aus „Steinbäcker – Timischl – Schiffkowitz“) war eine dreiköpfige Pop-Rock-Band aus Österreich. Das Trio wurde 1978 von Gert Steinbäcker, Günter Timischl und Schiffkowitz (bürgerlich Helmut Röhrling) gegründet. Alle drei Musiker stammen aus der Steiermark, was immer wieder in ihren Liedern anklingt.
